From Handcrafted Art to Digital Revolution
From Handcrafted Art to Digital
In the world of events, creativity has shifted from an art driven by human hands to a science powered by algorithms. Where improvisation, hand-painted posters, and basic effects like smoke or conventional lights once stood out, today, technology tools range from 3D projections to artificial intelligence.
In these past decades, technology was rudimentary: slide projectors and crafts dominated conventions. Creativity was measured by human inventiveness: massive choreographies, mechanical rotating stages, and decorations made of wood or paper. Although these events had a craft charm, their reach was limited: without global streaming or social media, they could only be enjoyed in person.
2000-2010: The Digital Dawn
With the advent of PowerPoint, basic internet, and digital cameras, creativity took a leap. Pre-recorded corporate videos replaced physical slides, and LCD screens added dynamism to the stages. A key milestone was Steve Jobs' keynote in 2007, where he introduced the iPhone: his emotional storytelling and live demonstrations marked a turning point in how companies communicate innovation.
2010-2015: Social Media and Global Participation
The explosion of platforms like Twitter and Facebook took creativity beyond the physical venue. Hashtags (#CES, #TechSummit) allowed global audiences to interact in real time.
2016-2020: Immersion and Data
Virtual reality (VR) and Big Data transformed the experience. Hybrid events combined in-person with virtual 360° tours while algorithms analyzed data to personalize agendas. Companies like Microsoft used holograms in their conferences, and feedback evolved from paper surveys to real-time metrics.
Post-Pandemic (2020-present): AI and Metaverse
COVID-19 accelerated the adoption of tools like Zoom, but it also led to bolder experiments. Platforms like Decentraland allowed the creation of fairs in the metaverse with personalized avatars, while AI (ChatGPT) began designing content, logos, and even speeches.
